The science of psychology has shown us that we have the ability to direct our thoughts. It is what we direct our thoughts toward that determines our emotions as well as our experience. Often times that focus is on something that is completely out of our control and leads to feeling stuck or other difficult emotions. So, remember to ask yourself, “is this 100% in my control?” More often than not we can see that our focus is on something that is not 100% in our control. If we change our focus, we can change how we feel/experience the situation, because the only four things that are always in our control are our thoughts, actions, attitude, and effort. So, as you approach each part of each day, simply remind yourself to “control the controllables!”
